throw down your arms, give up the fight

June 9th, 2010

In the time I started working for company D (we’re talking 2007 here) I bought a new snazzy suit in case I needed to go to clients and be all professional and stuff. However, my first project was at the shipping company where everyone walked around in flipflops, so I never really got to wear the suit. And by the time I did need it, I’d gained about 15 pounds and didn’t fit anymore. Which was a shame, because it’s a gorgeous white summery suit, and I look all professional in it. It was also a bummer because I paid quite a lot of money for it. I hung on to it for the next three years in case I might lose that weight again, because I refused to throw it out while I never wore the thing.

Last night I suddenly thought of that suit again. And what do you know, I look AWESOME in it. Especially now that I’m so ridiculously tanned. Here’s to hoping it’ll bring me luck this afternoon. Of all the jobs that I’ve hunted in the past month, this is the one that makes my heart the most aflutter… so these are exciting times :)
