this is why i watch the worldcup

July 2nd, 2010

So. To recap: after an intense match that went way into the extra time, at the very last moment Ghana attacked with no time left. It was a last ditch effort and it was insane moment at the Urugayan (?) goal. An Uruguayan defender blocked the ball with his hand to keep it out of the goal by any means necessary. He got a red card for it, at the very last moment of the game.

Ghana got a penalty kick. They missed.

Tension is SOARING. The game is now decided with penalty kicks.

*edit* and holy crap Uruguay won! What a match, unbelievable.

(and this is not even mentioning the way Holland owned Brazil’s ass earlier this afternoon in a very tense match!)

I know what you mean, it was definitely intense! This is also the reason why I only like to watch the WC/EC, this never happens in regular competitions! ;-)

Exactly; it seems like much more exotic stuff happens when there’s a lot at stake :D
