This is probably my last hangout at the bench near the reception wifi point here at the camping – we’ll be heading home tomorrow.
The last bit of the vacation was really pleasant. Although we haven’t had the chance to visit Venice, we did see Comacchio and Ravenna, and I lazed on the beach for a blissful afternoon. We had BBQ, delightful pizza and gelati (ice creams), and long hangouts on the veranda. Bodhi had a blast, playing with his friends and running through the surf on the beach, so all’s peachy there as well.
The only truly annoying part is the dump that Ol’s parent’s got to manage around here. We’ve done our share around here, and it seems like it’s manageable now, but I would advise you people not to ever camp at Selectcamp campings. You won’t believe the stuff that company is trying to get away with. Ew.
Oh and there’s one other downer – the mosquitos. We’re in the Po Delta here, which is effectively a swamp next to the sea. My legs and feet are a battlefield, one big itching mess. One time I woke up near to crying at night and had to sit with my feet in a bucket of cold water so it would get numb enough so I could sleep again. Bleh! No me moleste mosquito, why don’t you go home?
But apart from that, I think this working vacation gave us a lot of good karma, I had the chance to soak up some sunlight, eat gelati, and basically have fun.
Tomorrowmorning at 5am we’ll start the long trek home, and we’re going to try to drive it in one go. I hope it’ll work out. See ya on the flip side <3
I could have warned you about the Po Valley
. Mosquito’s and very humid heat is what it’s known for.
A single day is definately doable from that area of Italy.
