Well, that was fun! Damn, that was a lot of fun. Thanks to the wonders of Rick showing up, an argument between Adam and Julie, and Danielle & the Write Or Die website, I managed to do nearly 4K tonight. Wordcount stands at 14115 and Chapter 4 (”The Signals You Send”) is done.
Mightily pleased!! Keep in mind however I did those near 4K in only 75 minutes (!!!), so the quality might be (sorely) lacking in places.

This is the first Nano that you haven’t insanely outpaced me already – I’m just breaking 13k. I was totally full of myself for keeping up with your awe-inspiring Nano skills, but then I realised you actually work for a living and I’m a full-time slacker. So I’m still not very impressive in comparison.
I’m enjoying reading along.
Don’t diss yourself, 13K is a very good amount of words in four days. You’re firmly on a schedule to finish up at Day 15, which is awesome all in itself.
However, it’s true that I’m not racing as fast as former years, and that mostly has to do with the fact that Nano didn’t start in the weekend. Damn you working life!
And don’t get me even started on my quantity vs quality output. There are whole sequences in last night’s work that are not going to survive the edits
I do enjoy watching my projected finish date creep down.
I have all sorts of pretty graphs and tables to play with – I love updating my total wordcount and making everything jump.
Yeah, I’m not that impressed with the quality of my work either at the moment, but the only thing that can’t be fixed is a blank page.
That’s right. “The only way to fail is not to write”, they say
