we have not forgotten we control our lives

Current state: groggy, half-nauseous, aching in my neckmuscles. But happy.
Last night was made of awesome. All That Remains rocked my world.

Apart from the fact that they severely kicked ass and played awesomely and I was standing in the front with Tijs shielding my back from the biggest mosh pit impacts… the girl bassist (!) Jeanne and singer Phil are incredibly sympathetic. They had stage presence in bucketloads and smiles and time for everybody. Even after the gig. Jeanne looked me up especially to grab hands and we grinned stupidly at eachother while I told her great gig, and she thanked me for coming. We had a few moments during the concert, rocking out together and yelling along with the lyrics. I suppose that as a bassist to have such a moment with a chick in the audience is rather special. Or she’s just really this nice. ;)

Thanks to Derek I got a autographed pick as well; he caught one. Tijs nearly fought with some other guy over a thrown-into-the-audience-drumstick, haha.
Yeah, what’s there to say, apart from that I loved it, I needed it, my ears are somewhat ringing and I don’t care that I got some crowdsurfer’s boot in my neck just as I was headbanging?

Just that I had a brilliant time.
And if I should throw up the liquids that I’m drinking now, if the hangover should attack me in the next few hours after all, it will have been worth it.
