no one shall be spared the horror that is yet to come
I love how we’re adding a tiny thing to our house every weekend. Today we went to check out the Hornbach in Wateringen, initially to see if they had anything ressembling curtains for the top floor.
Our bedroom, true to Lannie & Olli form, doesn’t have any curtains yet. Now for us this is a trivial thing where it comes to daylight because we both sleep just as easily without any curtains, but it does get kind of embarrassing when you are undressing yourself and the neighbours on the other side of the street can get a full frontal like that. We went for curtains, and we came back with indeed windowblinds for upstairs, two tiny chrome-and-milkyglass racks for the bathroom, a garden light, a lamp for our front door, a flowerpot (and earth) for the magnolia that we got from Ol’s parents (for some reason called Susan – it said so on the card, I shit you not, so now we refer to the plant by her name, and it’s a she), flowers for our respective maternal units since it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow…
And… here it comes: a rainbow bead curtain for the backdoor! Hooray! It took me some begging and it was a compromise in the end because I had my eye on a more tacky and sparkly one (and I wanted the WHOLE backdoor area covered in it), but Olli acceded eventually. I have a rainbow bead curtain! Isn’t he just the sweetest?
On the way back we had a great time playing REALLY loud Parkway Drive in Tangy with the windows open. You should have seen the people watch us! We thought it was hilarious.
