So yesterday Bren and I went for sushi to celebrate that she turned in her Bachelor’s thesis at the same place where Olli and I went for our anniversary. The food was gorgeous… just gorgeous. Zenzo is a great restaurant, foodwise… and hey, guess what: these guys had plum wine too! They only had one bottle though… which sucked, because Bren and I were in a mood to get pissed. We then had some New Zealand wine, which was also excellent. Misty Rose or something? Very fruity!
Anyway, we had a good time just chilling out and trying to get Brenda off her thesis-writing high. I’m not quite sure if she really got off it, but we had a good time either way. Today we went shopping in the Hague where she bought birthday presents for her dad, and I bought Robin Hobb’s newest book. Planning to read that one soon, I happen to have this lovely garden that just begs for long lazy hours of reading in it. Pity they said it would rain tomorrow. Well, in that case I still also have this lovely couch
In other news, I procured tickets for Biffy Clyro in the Melkweg this december. Hooray! I’m really curious what their gig will be like, they’re one of the few bands I haven’t seen live yet that I really like. If you’re interested… they’re indie rock, rather versatile. Here you find their song “Machines” off their latest album on Youtube. They’ve got other interesting songs too, sometimes more punky, sometimes more ballad-y, but all of them are pretty much excellent. Great driving music, too!
And in other other other news… (I overuse that term way too much, mea culpa sweet people!), as you might have guessed from the pic on the right, I got some pictures uploaded from the BBQ party last week. The one you see right here is shamefully nabbed from Lie, but the other ones are fun too. I obviously should have taken more pictures but you know… I was too busy partying and enjoying myself. But for what it’s worth, you can check them out at my Picasa gallery
