Man, that was fun! The band can now honestly say that they’ve performed their first concert (with amps and all) in a garage, and that they didn’t suck. 
They also got a few other new achievements like first technical problem, first recovery, first singalong and first encore 
And apart from that, much beer and laughs were had.
The weather held up nicely through the first day. Saturday was sun-laden and warm. There were some clouds, but it wasn’t cold at all and it would prove to be a good start of our semi-festival where we’d watch the boys play in the garage & garden of Sanne’s parents. The drive to Opperdoes went smoothly, and by the time we arrived (at the same time as Aurelie) at 2.30-ish the rest was already there. We set up our tents and hung out basically until it was time for the boys to perform. They set up their equipment (like amps and Olli’s electrical drumset) in the garage, they played their songs, we had fun, and then we got chinese food and sat outside at the picnic table until it got colder… and we hung out in the garage with music and laughs until 3-ish.
I slept pretty badly though; during the night it started to rain and Sanne was right about the obnoxious church bells. My airmattress and I weren’t agreeing much either so I think I slept about 3-4 hours. I woke up a few times because I had to pee (damn beer), so all in all when we finally got up I was pretty bleary. And it was raining, too.
Olli and I went to get pie and flowers for Sanne’s parents as a thankyou gift and we heard from both them and the neighbours that we hadn’t been a bother at ALL. The neighbour was actually pretty impressed by the sounds she’d heard through the wall and everyone agreed that they’d be welcome to do this again someday. So that was great. Everyone started leaving around noon-ish. Ol and I hung around a bit later because we wanted our tent to dry up – and sure enough, by the time we left it had cleared up considerably. When we did get home though we were completely knackered, so we slept the rest of the afternoon away.
All in all, it was a great time. The only beef I had with this weekend was that it was too short and it should have been two days, haha We already started planning for another camping trip with the peeps and perhaps a beach party during birthday season at the end of July/early August.
