Because I’d been a horrible slouch with the laundry I was kind of out of jeans this morning. I still had my formal slacks, but I didn’t feel all that formal… so instead, I grabbed one of my skirts from the closet (the other black one I have is sliding off my butt ) and I’m wearing my skirt with my pretty boots. These are the boots I bought over from Bren a while ago – as a reference, also the ones I wore at the Halloween party and the Fantasy Fair.

And promptly people are commenting on it. My colleagues commented on my skirt-and-boots (why? when i started out at GS I was constantly wearing skirts!) and there was a random lady in the train who suddenly said out of nowhere: “You have the most awesome boots, where did you buy them?”

She has the same problem as I do; the wide calves. Nothing is slender or subtle about me, and least of all my legs. So finding knee-high boots is not something you do easily. This woman was very happy to hear about this shop in Alkmaar.

So score one for you and me, Bren!
