are we human or are we dancer

December 29th, 2008

The New Year’s Dive is rapidly becoming unattractive.

Unlike normally, the temperature is dipping way beyond zero centigrades at the moment. It’s going to freeze 8 degrees on New Year’s, which is fucking cold even under normal circumstances. I’m not looking forward to the seawater being infinitely more attractive than getting OUT of the water, where there’s ice on the sand. :(

Also, there’s people recovering from flu at the moment who really wanted to make the plunge. I’m torn.
I don’t want to chicken out, but there’s a difference between being silly and having a deathwish, I think…

(in other news, the trains were DESERTED this morning. I started to doubt the fact that it was Monday, wondered if I’d been mistaken and if I was taking my silly ass to work on a Sunday. But no. The NS might be right after all with their ‘during Christmas holiday not as many people are traveling by train…’ announcement. WTF dude.)

I’m afraid I’m going to have to chicken out. Headcold says that spontaneous dives into very cold water are not spontaneous and fun, but just stupid and kind of lethal in that ‘oh look, pneumonia!’ kind of way.

Well, as an alternative we could go outside in not too many clothes and have a fight with super soakers filled with very warm water? :P

    wusses :D

(But I’ll admit to limiting my cold water exposure to a drysuit :D )
