about dark clouds and silver linings
There are some good things that come from the financial crisis all of a sudden… One of them is the fact that we pay LESS than E1,20 for a liter of petrol, which is brilliant. It’s been E1,65 in the past so you can imagine what a relief this is for us car-driving folks.
The other good thing is that the British Pound is really doing lousy at the moment compared to the Euro. It’s about 1,13 Euro’s to a GBP at the moment, so Olli and I did some heavy duty shopping over at our friends of Amazon.co.uk to celebrate the occasion. You gotta take opportunities where they’re presented to you, right?
We’re currently the proud owners of Lost season 4, Battlestar season 3 & BSG Razor, and the full series of Firefly, for the measly amount of 80 euro’s. Including shipping.
So I guess you can figure out where Ol and I are hiding out lately: lying in bed watching DVD’s.
The fourth season of Lost is as excellent as I remembered it; I can’t wait for season 5 to start in January.

I hope the pound recovers before the next Euromeet, because buying euros would completely wipe me out.

I know!
I pay 1.16 for a liter of petrol, and I read on the BBC website that one pound costs 1 euro and 11 cents now…

Funny, I had looked at Amazon UK, for exactly the same reason, but what I wanted was actually cheaper here. They do have some sweet deals though, but that’s more ‘on sale’ that pounds I guess. Pirates box was 44 pounds vs 44 euros. The Dark Knight was 15 pounds vs 30 Euros. Bottom line is that it definately pays to shop around.
