wrap me in a blind tomorrow

August 2nd, 2007

Not much to report… utterly unmotivated for work at the moment, so I’m hugely indulging in escapism.

My escapade with Sixty Minutes has reinforced my belief that I shall write my Nanowrimo 2007 project in the Fortress reality. Because it’s a world that Brenda and I are pretty much sharing at this point (she’s done her 2006 Nano in that world, and I’ve written about 20K worth of short stories for that world since 2004) so we’re enthusiastically building on the world and trying to make sense of the jumbles of instant-inspiration pieces into a coherent timeline and setting. It’ll be my first honest-to-god SF, so I’m actually quite thrilled about picking this up.

The MC of Sixty Minutes is going to deal largely with the aftermath of what she did in that story, so Sixty Minutes shall be to my Nanowrimo 2007 what Karakterfout was to my Nanowrimo 2006 project, I suppose. I’m kind of looking forward to writing this kind of stuff again. In the past year I’ve done quite a bit for the Fortress reality, story-wise, so I guess it’s about time. :)
