Aaaw, that was so sweet! :)

I'm not sure about Lowlands, since I probably messed up yesterdays exam and I think the resit is on the first day of Lowlands (and besides that, Sophie is going too :P) but I'll give it a thought!

As for the question: I really don't know. My goal for last years Nano was to write in English, but in the end I clearly didn't do it :P I think it's mostly because writing in English makes me worry about the grammar so much, and the worrying won't do the writing any good.
Maybe I'll try it in 2008/2009, when I'll (hopefully) be in Great Britain.. but we'll see.

Devlyn:

1. I’ll respond with something random about you.
- During Pinkpop you never spoke once about your job, even though we hung out and chattered for 4 days straight.

2. I’ll challenge you to try something.
- If you challenge me to befriend you for the next 50 years, then I'll challenge you to not die on me for the next 50 years. Should be doable eh? ;)

3. I’ll pick a color that I associate with you.
- purple. A struggle between the fiery passion of red and the stable calmness of blue.

4. I’ll tell you something I like about you.
- Your flexibility. When you judged someone wrong or made a wrong decision in your life or job, you tend to shrug it off and switch very easily.

5. I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
- My clearest memory of you was when we were sitting on my own bed. I have no clue what we exactly talked about, but I do know that we made it all the way to 3 am with just some chattering and booze.I'm not sure how long ago it was (2003 perhaps?).

6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
- A squirrel. Always busy, always exploring, preparing and for some reason I think the furry quality of a squirrel relates to you ;).

7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wanted to ask you.
- Do you still feel as much 'out of the loop' as you did ~3 years ago?

7.yours. Do you feel I've changed a lot in the past seven years that we know one another? And if so, in what ways? And is that a good or a bad thing?
- Long message alert!
Most definitely. Like most of us, you got more moderated and a bit more reserved (oh wait, you actually grew up more :P). In the old days we haplessly partied, did stuff and said everything to everyone. It had plenty of good sides, but we also did a lot of damage with it in retrospect, I think. In addition, when I got to know you in 2000 you were the center of attention universe, with plenty of people talking with and about you. That changed somewhat I think when you got a full-time job a couple years ago, and due to that you changed a great deal. At least, I am seeing wholly different sides of you nowadays.

And I think it's a good thing, I've been in the center of attention myself at some point, but frankly it's not a lot of fun when you feel pressured all the time to be PC and diplomatic. I think we're better off with nobody in the center of attention ;).

8. If I do this for you, it would be appreciated if you posted this on yours.

1. I’ll respond with something random about you.
The first random thing that comes to mind is how much of a Japanophile you are. Anime, the country, the films, the culture.

2. I’ll challenge you to try something.
I don't know you very well, but you seem like someone who keeps himself under control at all times, who is always on top of things. I'd like to challenge you to let loose, run with things and see where you end up. Not that being in control is a bad thing, but it might be an interesting thing for you to experience.

3. I’ll pick a colour that I associate with you.
Silver grey.

4. I’ll tell you something I like about you.
You have a genuine interest in the world around you, and you have a keen eye on it. I think you have the l33t powers of observation, which is cool.

5. I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
I can't even remember clearly when we met, it must have been in Delft on one of Lya's birthdays, I guess. At that point I'd already heard a lot about you, so things are blurring a bit.
Clearest memory: you and Annemieke sitting together on Lya's couch in Breda in the morning sunlight after her birthday -- was it her birthday?
The other one is in Delft, some morning after one of Lya's parties, when you showed me anime music video's on your laptop.

6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
Something fluffy. A cat, I think.

7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wanted to ask you.
If true love would knock on your door tomorrow, would you be ready to embrace it?

(this is a philosophical one! I'd be more than willing to embellish on stuff. I hope it's not too direct or too much in-your-face)
