I just finished Feast for Crows.
O_O
fucking. awesome.
I knew I would like this one, because this part of the story deals with all the plotlines in & around King’s Landing, which is where most of my favorite characters hang out; but wow… the shit REALLY hits the fan in the capital of King’s Landing. *laughs delightedly* It was indeed awesome. I worry and fear for a few of the characters, and I cheer at the fate of others. *grins* George Martin… we’re not worthy.
I think it was slow and tells us just about nothing. Take the Arya ans Sansa plotlines. What purpose did they actually serve? What happened that was really important?
Same with the Samwell plotline and even the Brienne plotline didn’t tell us all that much in the end, just left us with a rather senseless cliffhanger.
The only stuff worth happening was with Jaime and Cersei, which was interesting yes, but could have been told with less chapters than it was actually done. All in all I don’t think it was necessary to split it up into two books…
