Now that’s a shitload of candy!

Ahem. Anyway. I’m aware that I haven’t been updating and I can tell you that it doesn’t feel quite right not to do so. It’s just that I’m not very comfortable with writing out all that’s in my head right now because some things are not mine to share. Yesyes, you read it write. Lannie’s learning some secrecy & integrity in her own age. Maybe I’ll write something out behind a lock somewhere, and maybe I won’t. It’s just that I don’t quite feel like talking in public right now. Feel free to call me for updates anytime, though. *grins*

As for the more mundane stuff: Bako seems to be doing better. I was quite worried about the little fuzzball when he just sat there Mondaynight, huddled under straw as if he was cold while he was sitting next to the radiator. He refused to eat or drink and was not aware of his surroundings at all. Totally unresponsive. Fortunately since yesterdaymorning he seems alert again, hops about, eats & drinks, and checks to see what you’re doing around the place again. That’s quite the relief.

The house is getting set up in working order slowly but steadily. The livingroom is livable, you can cook in the kitchen, our bed on the attic is all set up and cozy, and Kat’s room is as finished as she wants it to be. All that’s left, really, is the computerroom. Oh, and getting the old house back into shape again. Olli’s spending all day at the Siriusstraat working hard while I’m stuck here at work. I feel a bit guilty about that, although his cheerful recount on how he chopped our ugly black bookcase into pieces made me feel better. All that’s left now is cleaning… and getting the new owner to accept the apartment in its current state on Thursday. He seems pretty desperate so I’m giving us a good chance.

Yesterday I had another driver’s lesson and ended up inches before a concrete pole. That was not fun; I totally didn’t see it coming. I think it was in my blind spot and I took a sloppy corner, or something idiotic like that. I was ashamed shitless, but happy that I didn’t wreck Peter’s car. Regardless of that, Peter’s still content with the way I am progressing, while I feel like a bigger idiot every time I get into that car. Figures. It’s still fun to drive, though. That’s worth it.

And thus my days are filled with work at work, and work and obligations in our new and old house both. Not very interesting. I’m kind of sitting out my time until November, when Nano begins and the housecraze will end. It’s about time to do some mental exorcision. There’s a lot of crap up there.
