Major meh. But I do not like Mastodon enough to face slippery roads, insane drivers, and 600-800km of traffic jams. We would go by train, but the NS is not faring much better. So a big no-no there.

We’re drinking beer to console outselves. And oh well, at least Bodhi is having a blast with the snow.

Friday night Olli and I came back at 2 am from a dinner at John and Anahita (the ppl I had such a blast with in Antwerp. John is my colleague). Olli was still pretty sober because he was driving, I was mildly intoxicated. I offered to go for a walk with Bodhi, who was extremely excited at our return. That way Bo could do his business and blow off some steam, and we could all go to bed afterwards.

Anyway, I just rounded the corner when suddenly Bodhi stood still like a statue, and he was abruptly charged by a dog I knew very well. The dog we call his Nemesis, who has attacked him twice already and would have had a third time, crossing a busy road, if not for his owner interfering. Nemesis bloody hates Bo for some reason. Bodhi hates him right back btw. It’s pretty nasty stuff.
And guess what, 2am, I’m half drunk, and Nemesis is not on the leash. Bodhi is. SHIT.

I couldn’t grab him, I couldn’t hold Bodhi away. I screamed and shouted for his owner to show up, and in the meantime all I could do was put myself between the two fighting dogs and try to keep them from tearing each other’s throats out.

Thankfully neither Bodhi nor Nemesis are not very interested in attacking humans. Bodhi was just on the defense while Nemesis pretty much wanted to fight him.

I shouted so loud that Olli heard me – from inside the house. He was there almost before Nemesis’ owner was there. (Fun fact, I don’t even know what that shite dog is called. I guess it’s something like Jimmy, but I never get close enough to even talk to his owner.)

Anyway, with the two men there we could seperate the dogs.

I shouted something akin to “Motherfucker” at the owner. (Very classy). And he was all like: “Sorry, it’s 2am, there’s no one on the street, I thought I could keep him off the leash!”
Olli threathened to call the police if this would happen one more time. Motherfucker should just keep his dog leashed. It’s obviously not safe to let that dog walk freely, at whatever time of the day. How stupid are you?

Bodhi keeps licking his flank, where Nemesis bit into him. It wasn’t very bloody or anything, I guess it’s healing. But every time I see him lick there I feel horribly angry. I’m a bit of an overprotective puppy mamma, can you tell? Don’t you touch my puppy, you fucker. >:(

10 minutes from home.
Bodhi and me: Doo-de-doo, walk walk.

Suddenly: RAIN!!!

I don’t even know where those clouds came from so quickly, but suddenly they were there and did they unleash hell over our heads… wow. It wasn’t even funny anymore. Anyway, Bo and I just came home dripping wet.
Enough that Bodhi was licking my hands dry when I was toweling him off in the hallway. (awww!)

But yeah. Seriously. WTF, weather gods. I feel like I’m in fucking LOST or something, with those impromptu unannounced rainshowers…

The rainshower that we got on our heads was of epic proportions. My shoes were sopping by the time we got home. We both needed a complete change of clothes.

At least Bodhi was having a good time, he was happily wagging his tail the whole way. :’)

“Oi,” Olli says, not even looking up from his cell, “I’m busy. Those pigs won’t kill themselves, you know.”

I had to giggle at that. Just because it’s funny, and it’s so very much my life at the moment.
