(mis)adventures in uploading

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

So I’m TRYING to upload some pictures I made of our newly prettified livingroom that we’ve been slaving away at all weekend (pleasant breaks with boozing musicians and time in the sauna with sweet girls notwithstanding) but so far I’ve ran into the following problems:
- the pictures I took with my phone are useless, because neither my cutie pie or my desktop refuse to acknowledgde the fact that I should have bluetooth. Also, I somehow misplaced my cables during the move.
- the pictures I took with the camera are useless because 1) my flash card reader is mysteriously malfunctioning and 2) neither my cutie pie or my desktop can find the appropriate software to get the camera to work when I hook it up directly.
I’m about to start throwing with stuff.

Of course once Olli wakes up he’ll get it to work in like three seconds. But he deserves his sleep, and I want to try before I whine to him first. Dammit :(

is it too late to remind you how we were

The sweet feeling of accomplishment:

- Our livingroom, after we cleared out the boxes and set up our new bookclosets, in matching colours to the rest of our interior. Suddenly our livingroom is starting to look like a real livingroom. We went from 50% to 85% homey-ness in one evening (still need to clear out the junk & actually put books in the book cupboard) of hard work, and I’m so pleased with it I could explode. :D

- Aching muscles in my shoulders after my workout yesterday. I pulled, lifted, pushed and whatevered 10,000 kilograms yesterday. How awesome is that? It seems much more than it really was btw, I just did my round three times, some exercises even four times. But still, it’s accomplishment. And it makes me happy :)

Dude, I’m being totally boring lately on my blog. Sorry! There’s just not much going on that I felt like talking about earlier. Work is work, life is life, and I’m going through the motions. The house is tiny bit by tiny bit becoming more habitable and more like home. Every day when I walk into our street after having hopped off the tram I look at our castle and I still can’t believe that this is OUR house. It doesn’t really feel like ours yet… I know that comes later, it’s only been roughly a month. We haven’t even finished decorating yet. The Rijswijk pad wasn’t really finished until we left, funnily enough. So yeah, that takes longer sometimes.

But we’re having fun too. Bathing together is made of awesome, and I think Olli’s bathed more in the past six weeks than he’s done the past six years. Never mind the whole concept of lying sprawled over the couch with the both of us, watching mundane tv shows on our way too big 47″ tv screen. Or sitting at the kitchen table with my laptop while Olli cooks dinner. It’s really nice. I wonder when it sinks in that this place is really ours… :)

In other news, I’m playing a bit of moral support for Lie at the moment. Thinking of you, sweetie. I’m glad I can be here for you in a time of need. <3
