So I got the lump in my neck tended to. This consisted of making incisions on all sides of the lump and then squeezing until all the crap’s come out. It was about time as well, yesterday it got so bad that I couldn’t look to the right anymore, and I had frequent stabbing pains in my neck because all my muscles and skin were beyond strained. Yesterday evening it got so bad that putting a knife on it on my own seemed tempting. I just had a bath and read Patrick Rothfuss’ The Name Of The Wind while drinking wine, instead.
Today the GP just mangled my neck bigtime, and tomorrow I’ll have to come back for more.
In the meanwhile, my neck is so sore that I want to cry. Also, I have my period for the first time since I had my Mirena re-placed so I’m a hormonal wreck as well. All in all, today is a pretty abysmal day. Meh.

well, that fucking sucked…
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011this annoys me
Saturday, September 3rd, 2011From the feel of it, that stupid lump in my neck isn’t getting any smaller. If I go back to the GP and all the hassle pf taking that penicillin every eight hours was for nothing, I will be very irritated. I’m also not quite sure what we can do then. Well, we’ll know more on Wednesday I suppose.
on london and lumps
Tuesday, August 30th, 2011At Graspop, when having (many) Leffe beers with Derek, I kind of realized what a sucky friend I’ve been.
Here he goes, emigrating to London – and after a year we still haven’t visited him yet. Combine this with a city trip that I promised Olli for his birthday, Ol and I finally sat down and booked a trip to London at the end of November.
We’ll go by Eurostar/NS Hispeed – which turned out to be only E200 for a two way journey, with the two of us. That’s not much – you can’t fly for that money. Also, the trip takes about 5 hours from The Hague station. I think that if we’d go by plane, with all the travelling by train through NL and LDN, combined with waiting on the airport and security and stuff, it would take at least that long. So all in all I think we got a good deal! It helps to book in advance, apparently!
Our hotel is right next to King’s Cross and is also a pub, so I only see win situations here. Pubhotel + London + Derek = WIN. *nods*
In other news, I had to see the GP today. I have a lump in my neck (again), and this time it’s bothering me immensely. It’s about the size of a 2 euro coin and it’s quite the bump, so I can’t properly look up or lie on my back in my pillows when I want to sleep. It annoys the flying fuck out of me. So I went to see the doctor and he was all like: “Let’s have a look… Oh. WOW.” Very reassuring… not.
He said it was too inflamed to cut it away today, so I have to take penicillin and come back next week to see if the infection has gone down. Meh, I say. Meh. So next free day (next Wednesday) I am going back to the GP and get the rest of my shit sorted (post office, new heels under my boots, etc, etc.) I’ll be so productive, it’s already scaring me.
